Nicholas Arvanitis is an architect, editor, and electronic musician based in Montréal. He is currently an editor at the Canadian Centre for Architecture and works as a freelance designer.
He holds an M.Arch I from the Yale School of Architecture, an MS in Design and Urban Ecologies from Parsons School of Design, and a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto. At Yale, he was a research and teaching assistant, collaborating with Keller Easterling on critical cartographies exhibited at the Chicago Architectural Biennial and the International Architecture Biennial Rotterdam.
Under the name Shagabond, he has been making music since 2013 — down-tempo electronic inflected by hip-hop, R&B, and 70s soul. He began producing in Waterloo, Ontario, and his early track "Coral Soup" landed on Bondax's compilation before he turned eighteen. He released his debut EP, The Metamorphoses of Lonesome Charlie, through Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs, alongside a self-directed short film. A long-running collaboration with L.A.-based singer Noah produced the EP Everything, All At Once through Majestic Casual Records, and a live session on CBC Music. He co-founded the Toronto label Exhume Music.
